Loot & Containers
Where gear comes from: Tarkov's searchable containers, what each kind holds and how fast it refills, and every other source from ground loot to bosses.
On this page
Loot here comes from far more than the floor. The biggest source is Tarkov's own containers, placed all over the map: jackets on hooks, filing cabinets, PC towers, safes, toolboxes, weapon crates, dead scavs. Walk up to one, Search, and it opens and fills in front of you.
Searchable containers#
- Never empty. Every search gives at least one item. The walk there is the cost; nobody opens a jacket for nothing.
- Each kind has its own table, taken from Tarkov's: a safe holds money and valuables, a cash register holds roubles and nothing else, a drawer is where keys and paperwork turn up, a PC tower is electronics. Look for the container that holds what you need.
- They refill. Once searched, a container can be searched again after its timer.
| Container | What it holds | Items | Searchable again after |

| Fuel | Fuel | 1-3 | 35 min |
| Around the house | Household items, sometimes a valuable | 1-2 | 35 min |
| Rubbish | Junk | 1-3 | 35 min |
Within a table, rarer means pricier: the more an item is worth, the less often it turns up, from a screw at one end to a LEDX at the other.
Your inventory colours items by rarity, the same tiers the traders gate purchases by, so a good find stands out at a glance. The colours can be switched off in EFD Options → Game.
